HVAC REPORTING AND ANALYTICS SOFTWARE GUIDE
Best HVAC Reporting and Analytics Software
HVAC reporting and analytics software turns the operational data created by calls, estimates, jobs, invoices, technicians, equipment, and maintenance programs into information a contractor can use to run the business. This comparison examines how FieldEdge, FieldPulse, Housecall Pro, Jobber, and ServiceTitan handle owner dashboards, custom report construction, technician and CSR performance, job profitability, marketing attribution, recurring-revenue analysis, multi-location oversight, permissions, scheduled delivery, exports, and external business-intelligence workflows. It also separates native reporting from plan-gated features, vendor add-ons, enterprise products, accounting connections, APIs, and third-party integrations.

QUICK VERDICT: BEST HVAC REPORTING SOFTWARE
RECOMMENDED
FieldPulse
Best overall HVAC reporting software for most small and midsize contractors
- Best for: Contractors that want to create their own operational reports, pivots, charts, and dashboard widgets without moving to an enterprise field-service platform.
- Key strengths: Native raw-data reporting across jobs, estimates, invoices, payments, timesheets, customers, assets, maintenance agreements, inventory, and other record types; project reporting when Project Management is available on Professional or Enterprise; form-response reporting when Custom Forms is licensed; field-level filtering; grouping; pivots; visual reports; reusable templates; CSV exports; and live custom dashboards.
- Important limitation: FieldPulse documents on-demand saved reports, widgets, and CSV exports, but not arbitrary scheduled email delivery comparable to Housecall Pro or ServiceTitan. Full report authoring is principally a back-office workflow even though dashboards are available on mobile.
- Package note: Dashboards and reporting are core FieldPulse capabilities, and full-access seats include reporting. Project Management is Professional/Enterprise; Open API and multi-location management are Enterprise. Engage phone analytics and Custom Forms reporting depend on those separate products.
RECOMMENDED
ServiceTitan
Best enterprise HVAC reporting and analytics platform
- Best for: Midsize, large, multi-location, and enterprise HVAC organizations that need governed reporting across operations, technicians, calls, sales, finance, marketing, memberships, equipment, inventory, payroll, and multiple tenants.
- Key strengths: The broadest analytical lifecycle and strongest governance in this comparison: built-in reports; customizable dashboards and role-specific KPI modules; technician and marketing scorecards; job and project costing; compatible two-template joins and calculated KPIs; granular permissions; scheduled PDF/XLSX delivery; mobile technician scorecards; developer APIs on qualifying packages; and Enterprise Hub rollups.
- Important limitation: Its advantage comes with the highest implementation and package complexity. Built-in reports span Starter, Essentials, and The Works; custom reports and report-backed dashboard modules require The Works (or a legacy/non-packaged account); custom-dashboard creation is package/configuration dependent; Technician Scorecards require account configuration; Customer-Built Apps require The Works or Enterprise Plus; Enterprise Hub is a separate SKU; and Marketing Pro and ServiceTitan Max are separate products.
- Package note: ServiceTitan's reporting workflow guide explains reporting package boundaries, dashboard types, scheduling, and performance constraints; its approved integration paths distinguish Certified Apps from package-gated Customer-Built Apps. Multi-template custom reports join no more than two compatible templates.
RECOMMENDED
Housecall Pro
Strongest simpler HVAC KPI and scheduled-reporting alternative
- Best for: Small and midsize residential HVAC companies that want guided report creation, clear graphs, a technician leaderboard, membership metrics, and recurring report emails without a specialist analyst.
- Key strengths: Up to 40 out-of-the-box reports; filters, columns, grouping and graph controls; saved and shared reports; daily, weekly, monthly, or one-time delivery; job-costing reports; marketing ROI; and an easy KPI dashboard with revenue, work, technician, and membership views.
- Important limitation: The report experience is more constrained than FieldPulse's raw-data builder or ServiceTitan's template-and-dashboard system. Several important analytics depend on plan or product eligibility, including the Essentials-or-MAX Tech Leaderboard, MAX Advanced Reporting, membership features that vary between the standard plans and HVAC Package, Pipeline lead reports, and Voice call conversion.
- Package note: Standard reporting is native. The Mechanical KPI Dashboard is part of the Housecall Pro HVAC Package, with individual cards and features gated by tier; Pipeline and Voice analytics should be labeled with the underlying product rather than treated as universal reporting.
FieldEdge
Conditional fit for buyers who want ready-made HVAC dashboards
- Consider if: You want recognizable sales, technician, agreement, job-profit, and marketing views without designing an analytics model from scratch, and modifying preset reports is sufficient.
- Key strengths: Native dashboard and reporting on every plan; HVAC-oriented performance views; work-order profitability; technician sales and invoice-efficiency reports; class and business-unit analysis; and live QuickBooks Online or Desktop synchronization.
- Important limitation: FieldEdge primarily lets users modify established reports rather than freely combine operational datasets. Select has no saved reports, Premier permits 10, and Elite permits unlimited saved reports.
- Package note: Reporting and the dashboard are native on all three FieldEdge plans. Performance & Commission starts on Premier. MarketingEdge is included with Elite and separately priced on Select and Premier; it is not the same as core lead-source reporting.
Jobber
Conditional fit for basic owner reporting
- Consider if: You need fast answers about revenue, cash flow, scheduled work, recurring-job value, lead sources, and team activity, and advanced or ad hoc analysis is not a buying requirement.
- Key strengths: An Insights Dashboard on all plans; more than 20 preset reports; report-specific filters and columns; emailed CSV export for many reports; team-productivity allocation; lead-source and conversion reporting; revenue heatmaps; and a separate Jobber-built Report Scheduler app.
- Important limitation: Customization occurs inside each predefined report. Jobber does not document a general-purpose pivot, calculated-field, or cross-object report builder comparable to FieldPulse or ServiceTitan. Job profit requires Grow or Plus, and not every report can be scheduled.
- Package note: The Insights Dashboard is available on all plans, while individual detailed reports may have their own plan requirements. Job costing is Grow/Plus. Jobber Central is a specialized multi-account environment for franchise and multi-location organizations.
How We Tested
In August 2026, the Tools in the Wild editorial team evaluated FieldEdge, FieldPulse, Housecall Pro, Jobber, and ServiceTitan against the same HVAC reporting scenarios: reviewing an owner’s daily dashboard, constructing and saving a report, comparing technician results, tracing job margin, attributing revenue to a lead source, monitoring maintenance-program performance, governing branch access, and delivering data outside the reporting screen. We verified the workflows and package boundaries with current vendor help centers, report dictionaries, pricing pages, integration guides, API documentation, and enterprise materials. The conclusions emphasize analytical depth, usability, data governance, and operating fit rather than shared baseline reports. Vendors neither reviewed the article nor influenced its conclusions. Read our full editorial methodology.
Our Verdict
These platforms are not equally strong at reporting and analytics: FieldPulse is the best overall fit for most small and midsize HVAC contractors, while ServiceTitan is the enterprise capability leader.
FieldPulse is the best overall choice for most small and midsize HVAC contractors. A manager can analyze a broad range of operational records, filter on supported fields, group rows, build pivots and charts, save the result, and place it on a live dashboard. That combination of flexible construction and approachable day-to-day use is especially valuable when a company has its own job statuses, custom fields, maintenance logic, or asset taxonomy. ServiceTitan reaches a higher enterprise ceiling, but FieldPulse gets a smaller analytics team to a tailored answer with less infrastructure.
ServiceTitan is the enterprise winner for reporting and analytics. It provides the deepest native operational vocabulary, from calls and estimates to equipment, memberships, payroll, job cost, business units, and marketing. It also has the strongest permission model and multi-tenant rollup path. Its reporting quality still depends on disciplined configuration—especially business-unit mapping, campaign setup, cost capture, and employee permissions—and its most flexible tools require higher packages or separate enterprise products.
Housecall Pro is the strongest simpler alternative for ready-made KPIs and recurring report delivery. Its report workflow starts with recognizable subjects and metrics, then exposes date, filter, column, grouping, graph, save, share, and schedule controls. The KPI Dashboard and Tech Leaderboard give residential managers a useful operating cadence. Buyers must map the desired analysis to the correct plan and product because membership, Pipeline, Voice, MAX, and HVAC-package features extend the base reporting layer.
FieldEdge is a conditional choice for buyers who prioritize ready-made HVAC management views over flexible analysis. Its dashboard, profitability, efficiency, agreement, class, and technician reporting align with an established service business that prefers preset views and close accounting integration. The tradeoff is construction flexibility: users edit and save versions of standard reports, and saved-report capacity depends on plan.
Jobber is a conditional choice when basic business visibility is sufficient and advanced analysis is not a buying requirement. The all-plan Insights Dashboard answers common cash-flow, workload, revenue, recurring-work, geographic, and team questions quickly, while more than 20 preset reports support report-specific filtering and customization, and many can be exported by emailed CSV. It is not the right shortlist choice when the company needs calculated KPIs, arbitrary joins, pivots, or highly tailored executive dashboards.
For most small and midsize buyers, start with FieldPulse. Move to ServiceTitan when enterprise governance, cross-tenant rollups, and the broadest operational templates justify the added implementation scope. Choose Housecall Pro when a simpler HVAC KPI and scheduled-reporting workflow matters more than open-ended analysis. Consider FieldEdge or Jobber only when their narrower preset-report models match the requirement.

MONITORING THE BUSINESS FROM AN OWNER DASHBOARD
Seeing today's operating position without assembling a spreadsheet
FieldPulse lets the owner decide which saved reports become live widgets. ServiceTitan can combine standard operational scorecards with role-specific custom dashboards, but the most flexible report-backed modules require The Works. Housecall Pro’s Mechanical KPI Dashboard requires little setup and presents a coherent residential-HVAC summary. Jobber supplies a basic all-plan overview, while FieldEdge emphasizes established HVAC management metrics.
Test Results
FieldPulse provides the strongest customizable owner dashboard for most small and midsize teams; ServiceTitan leads on enterprise depth, and Housecall Pro has the quickest preset HVAC KPI view.
What we compared
- FieldPulse — configurable core dashboard plus live report widgets
- ServiceTitan — deepest role-specific operating cockpit
- Housecall Pro — best ready-to-use residential HVAC KPI page
- FieldEdge — ready-made HVAC management visibility
- Jobber — basic all-plan small-business snapshot
FieldPulse — configurable core dashboard plus live report widgets
Native/core. The Pulse Dashboard includes configurable widgets for work, unpaid invoices, collected payments, invoice and estimate sales, and other current activity. Users can filter supported widgets, rearrange or remove them, and make the dashboard their default login page. A saved tabular or visual report can also become a live custom-dashboard widget, with adjustable date periods, width, height, and row order. See Pulse Dashboard and Custom Reporting Dashboard.
FieldPulse’s advantage is that the dashboard can reflect the company’s own report definitions. The mobile app exposes the Pulse Dashboard, but the documented raw-report construction workflow is a web/back-office task; mobile viewing should not be confused with full mobile dashboard administration.
KEY FINDINGS
- The Pulse Dashboard includes configurable widgets for work, unpaid invoices, collected payments, invoice and estimate sales, and other current activity.
- Users can filter supported widgets, rearrange or remove them, and make the dashboard their default login page.
- A saved tabular or visual report can also become a live custom-dashboard widget, with adjustable date periods, width, height, and row order.

ServiceTitan — deepest role-specific operating cockpit
Core prebuilt dashboards; Technician Scorecards require account configuration; custom-dashboard creation is package/configuration dependent; report modules are The Works. ServiceTitan’s standard dashboard includes business, call, CSR, marketing, geographic, and technician views. A custom dashboard can combine Report, KPI, or Visualization modules, then be arranged around an owner’s, service manager’s, call-center leader’s, or sales manager’s responsibilities. See Measure Performance and Make Decisions and custom report modules for dashboards.
ServiceTitan’s breadth makes it the strongest enterprise management cockpit, but dashboard credibility depends on configuration. Technician scorecards require business units to be mapped correctly to divisions, and dashboard data refreshes manually unless auto-refresh is configured. The vendor’s dashboard filtering guide is a reminder that “real time” should not be interpreted as every page updating continuously without user or account settings.
KEY FINDINGS
- ServiceTitan's standard dashboard includes business, call, CSR, marketing, geographic, and technician views.
- A custom dashboard can combine Report, KPI, or Visualization modules, then be arranged around an owner's, service manager's, call-center leader's, or sales manager's responsibilities.

Housecall Pro — best ready-to-use residential HVAC KPI page
Native in Housecall Pro’s HVAC Package from Basic; individual cards and features remain tier- or product-dependent. Housecall Pro’s Mechanical KPI Dashboard needs no report design. It covers revenue against goal, completed revenue, collections, average ticket, invoice aging, estimates, close rate, booked jobs by lead source, repeat business, active memberships, recurring revenue, retention, and upcoming renewals. Most cards support month-, quarter-, year-, or recent-period views and year-over-year context. The sortable Tech Leaderboard adds revenue, job count, average ticket, conversion, and rating, but requires Essentials or MAX. See the HVAC Package overview and Mechanical KPI Dashboard guide.
Housecall Pro also provides customizable report dashboards, where saved reports become cards that can be rearranged, resized, and shown as bars, lines, or tables. That makes it more composable than Jobber’s fixed Insights page, though less open-ended than FieldPulse or ServiceTitan. See Reporting Dashboards.
KEY FINDINGS
- Housecall Pro's Mechanical KPI Dashboard needs no report design.
- It covers revenue against goal, completed revenue, collections, average ticket, invoice aging, estimates, close rate, booked jobs by lead source, repeat business, active memberships, recurring revenue, retention, and upcoming renewals.
- Most cards support month-, quarter-, year-, or recent-period views and year-over-year context.

FieldEdge — ready-made HVAC management visibility
Native/core dashboard; some source metrics are plan-gated. FieldEdge’s dashboard is included on Select, Premier, and Elite and is designed around immediately recognizable contractor questions: actual versus potential sales, revenue, average ticket, technician results, job profitability, CSR calls, expiring agreements, and marketing performance. The vendor describes these as real-time management views, and its HVAC page emphasizes comparison across business units, territories, and revenue streams. See the FieldEdge performance-dashboard overview and current plan table.
This is a strong consumption experience, not evidence of an unrestricted analytical canvas. Performance & Commission is absent from Select, and Outbound Call Recording is Elite-only. Some marketing data also depends on setup such as lead sources, tracking numbers, or MarketingEdge. FieldEdge is therefore most useful when its established HVAC KPIs match how the company already runs.
KEY FINDINGS
- FieldEdge's dashboard is included on Select, Premier, and Elite and is designed around immediately recognizable contractor questions: actual versus potential sales, revenue, average ticket, technician results, job profitability, CSR calls, expiring agreements, and marketing performance.
- The vendor describes these as real-time management views, and its HVAC page emphasizes comparison across business units, territories, and revenue streams.

Jobber — basic all-plan small-business snapshot
Native/core. Jobber’s Insights Dashboard is available on every plan and answers common owner questions with preset cards: leads and quote conversion, revenue trend, revenue by lead source, geographic revenue, receivables, payouts, payment speed, scheduled job value, average job value, recurring versus one-off work, monthly recurring-job value, and top team members. Each metric has its own defined calculation and lookback period. See the Jobber Insights Dashboard.
The dashboard is straightforward because Jobber makes most layout and metric choices in advance. That is useful to a small owner who wants a reliable weekly review. It is a constraint for an analyst who wants to replace cards, write a calculated KPI, or lay out several saved custom reports on a new executive page. Job-cost widgets also remain blank or limited unless Grow/Plus job costing is active and the user has permission.
KEY FINDINGS
- Jobber's Insights Dashboard is available on every plan and answers common owner questions with preset cards: leads and quote conversion, revenue trend, revenue by lead source, geographic revenue, receivables, payouts, payment speed, scheduled job value, average job value, recurring versus one-off work, monthly recurring-job value, and top team members.

BUILDING A REPORT AROUND THE COMPANY'S OWN WORKFLOW
Answering a question the vendor did not anticipate
FieldPulse offers the most direct workflow for filtering raw operational records, grouping them, pivoting them, visualizing the result, and saving it as a widget. ServiceTitan supports report templates, compatible calculated KPIs, permissions, sharing, dashboards, and limited two-template joins. Housecall Pro provides broad guided customization. FieldEdge and Jobber primarily modify predefined reports rather than building a new analytical model.
Test Results
FieldPulse leads custom analysis for most small and midsize contractors; ServiceTitan leads enterprise construction and governance.
What we compared
- FieldPulse — best mid-market raw-data builder
- ServiceTitan — strongest controlled enterprise report builder
- Housecall Pro — guided report composition and natural-language assistance
- FieldEdge — customize and save an established report
- Jobber — flexible report columns, fixed report families
FieldPulse — best mid-market raw-data builder
Native/core report builder; plan-gated and add-on data sources remain gated. FieldPulse can report across jobs, estimates, invoices, payments, timesheets, maintenance agreements, assets, customers, orders, subtasks, reminders, serialized inventory, item usage, and other operational records. Project data is available when Project Management is licensed on Professional or Enterprise; form-response reporting requires the separate Custom Forms product. Within a report, a manager can filter on any available field, select and reorder columns, group values, create a pivot, build a chart, save the report, save it as a dashboard widget, or export CSV. See Raw Data Reporting and FieldPulse pricing.
This is materially more flexible than renaming columns in a fixed report. An HVAC company can, for example, group completed no-cool jobs by a custom job field and lead source, compare estimated and actual duration, then put the resulting margin view on a service manager’s dashboard. FieldPulse also publishes importable reporting templates, so teams can start with common sales, conversion, commission, tax, or receivables logic instead of beginning from an empty table.
KEY FINDINGS
- FieldPulse can report across jobs, estimates, invoices, payments, timesheets, maintenance agreements, assets, customers, orders, subtasks, reminders, serialized inventory, item usage, and other operational records.
- Project data is available when Project Management is licensed on Professional or Enterprise.
- form-response reporting requires the separate Custom Forms product.

ServiceTitan — strongest controlled enterprise report builder
Built-in reports span the main packages; custom reports are The Works or legacy/non-packaged. ServiceTitan users can start from operational templates such as Jobs, Invoices, Estimates, Customers, Locations, Equipment, Memberships, Technician Performance, and Business Unit Performance. They can select columns, filter, group, sort, aggregate, save, share, and place eligible reports on dashboards. Compatible multi-template reports can also add calculated fields. The reporting workflow guide and custom-report entitlement guide explain the difference between built-in and custom access.
ServiceTitan also supports a report built from two compatible templates joined through a shared entity such as Customer ID, Job ID, or Business Unit ID. That is the highest construction ceiling in this comparison, but it is not unlimited: a report can join no more than two templates, Extended and Legacy reports cannot be joined, and large customer/membership joins may time out. The Reporting Dictionary, template permissions, and creator-sharing model add governance beyond FieldPulse’s role- and feature-level controls, while also adding more setup and analyst training.
KEY FINDINGS
- ServiceTitan users can start from operational templates such as Jobs, Invoices, Estimates, Customers, Locations, Equipment, Memberships, Technician Performance, and Business Unit Performance.
- They can select columns, filter, group, sort, aggregate, save, share, and place eligible reports on dashboards.

Housecall Pro — guided report composition and natural-language assistance
Native/core reporting; MAX extends Advanced Reporting. Housecall Pro begins with subjects such as jobs, estimates, leads, Service Plans, payments, and custom reports, then lets the user choose metrics and groupings, alter the action date, add filters, edit table columns, change graph type, drill into records, and save the result. It documents up to 40 out-of-box starting reports. See Managing Reports and the MAX reporting permission.
That workflow is more composable than Jobber’s report library but still works inside Housecall Pro’s defined subjects and dimensions. Job Fields are a controlled set rather than arbitrary cross-object schema. Analyst AI adds a useful native route: ask a natural-language question about revenue, gross profit, job types, or technician results, review the generated report, and save it to a dashboard. It accelerates the existing reporting layer; it does not turn Housecall Pro into an unrestricted data warehouse.
KEY FINDINGS
- Housecall Pro begins with subjects such as jobs, estimates, leads, Service Plans, payments, and custom reports, then lets the user choose metrics and groupings, alter the action date, add filters, edit table columns, change graph type, drill into records, and save the result.

FieldEdge — customize and save an established report
Native/core editing; saving is plan-gated. FieldEdge Enhanced Reporting lets a user add, remove, and reorder columns; change filters, grouping, and sort; and export all result rows to CSV. Premier can retain 10 saved report views and Elite can retain unlimited views, while Select has no saved reports. The vendor’s Enhanced Reporting guide and Premier overview describe this model.
The distinction from FieldPulse and ServiceTitan is structural. FieldEdge starts from an existing report—such as work-order profitability, invoiced items, or class sales—and lets the manager tailor that view. Its documentation does not describe joining arbitrary jobs, customers, agreements, and equipment into a new cross-object report or creating a pivot-based semantic model. It is efficient when the right base report exists and limiting when it does not.
KEY FINDINGS
- FieldEdge Enhanced Reporting lets a user add, remove, and reorder columns.
- change filters, grouping, and sort.
- and export all result rows to CSV.

Jobber — flexible report columns, fixed report families
Native; detailed reports and custom fields are plan-dependent. Jobber has more than 20 established reports spanning invoices, payments, taxes, projected income, client balances, visits, one-off and recurring jobs, requests, checklists, quotes, products and services, GPS, timesheets, client communication, and re-engagement. Customization is report-specific: many reports support date ranges and additional filters, and many—but not all—support selectable columns. See Reports Basics.
Jobber’s meaningful customization advantage is its custom-field model. Admin-defined fields can live on clients, properties, quotes, jobs, invoices, and team members, and applicable reports expose them as columns. See Custom Fields. That makes a fixed report more relevant to a company’s workflow, but the platform still does not document arbitrary joins, pivots, calculated fields, or user-designed dashboard canvases.
KEY FINDINGS
- Jobber has more than 20 established reports spanning invoices, payments, taxes, projected income, client balances, visits, one-off and recurring jobs, requests, checklists, quotes, products and services, GPS, timesheets, client communication, and re-engagement.

COACHING TECHNICIANS, CSRS, AND SALES TEAMS
Separating activity, opportunity, conversion, and revenue
ServiceTitan combines technician scorecards, CSR and call metrics, sales and productivity templates, business-unit divisions, drill-down, and a mobile scorecard. Housecall Pro’s Mechanical KPI leaderboard and commission reports make common residential KPIs accessible. FieldEdge offers preset HVAC efficiency views, and Jobber’s time-based revenue allocation is useful but less sales-oriented.
Test Results
ServiceTitan has the deepest enterprise coaching loop; Housecall Pro has the strongest turnkey small-business leaderboard, while FieldPulse is better for company-specific KPIs.
What we compared
- ServiceTitan — strongest role-specific coaching loop
- Housecall Pro — best accessible technician leaderboard
- FieldPulse — construct the KPI from operational records
- FieldEdge — preset HVAC coaching views, with plan gates
- Jobber — productivity based on visits, time, and attributed revenue
ServiceTitan — strongest role-specific coaching loop
Native scorecards; Technician Scorecards require account configuration; specialty ServiceTitan Max analytics are separate. Technician Scorecards divide performance into Overview, Lead Generation, Memberships, Productivity, and Sales, with drill-down to an individual technician. ServiceTitan also provides technician performance and dashboard-revenue templates, CSR and call scorecards, and business-unit conversion views. Scorecards use the business unit of completed-job invoice items; when invoice-item business-unit assignment is not configured, those items typically inherit the job business unit. They are not based on the technician’s assigned business unit. See Technician Scorecards and mapping business units to scorecards.
The mobile scorecard lets permitted technicians see sales, conversion, revenue, customer satisfaction, and other KPIs without an office login—unique depth among these five. ServiceTitan Max can add field recordings and specialized coaching analytics, but it is a separate product and only recorded jobs appear in those views. Standard scorecards should therefore be distinguished from Max’s recording-based analysis.
KEY FINDINGS
- Technician Scorecards divide performance into Overview, Lead Generation, Memberships, Productivity, and Sales, with drill-down to an individual technician.
- ServiceTitan also provides technician performance and dashboard-revenue templates, CSR and call scorecards, and business-unit conversion views.

Housecall Pro — best accessible technician leaderboard
Native; the leaderboard and Commissions feature are tier-gated. The Mechanical KPI Tech Leaderboard sorts employees by revenue, job count, average ticket, estimate conversion, and customer rating on Essentials or MAX. The native commission report requires the Commissions feature, which current standard pricing places on Essentials/MAX; the HVAC Package also bundles Price Book Commissions from Essentials. Commission reporting adds commission cost, line-item sales, conversion, and job-count performance by employee. Time-tracking data can contribute job and travel hours. See the KPI Dashboard, Commissions Report, Housecall Pro pricing, and HVAC Package overview.
Housecall Pro’s advantage is legibility: a manager can get from a leaderboard to the supporting report without designing a scorecard model. Its reporting metric dictionary is essential because “conversion,” “average job size,” and attributed sales depend on status, action date, assignment, and feature setup. Job Splits improve per-technician attribution; Pipeline and Voice are required for their respective lead and call conversion datasets.
KEY FINDINGS
- The Mechanical KPI Tech Leaderboard sorts employees by revenue, job count, average ticket, estimate conversion, and customer rating on Essentials or MAX.
- The native commission report requires the Commissions feature, which current standard pricing places on Essentials/MAX.
- the HVAC Package also bundles Price Book Commissions from Essentials.

FieldPulse — construct the KPI from operational records
Native/core; source add-ons remain separate. FieldPulse’s template library includes Sales by Technician, Estimate Conversion by User, Sales by Invoice Creator, and Commissions by Recipient. Raw job and site-visit reports can compare scheduled versus actual duration, technician punctuality, assigned-user activity, site-visit status, job duration, and margin. Review Management can show review results by technician. See Job Reports, Site Visit Reports, and Review Management reporting.
FieldPulse wins when a manager’s coaching definition is specific—for example, completed maintenance calls arriving late, lasting longer than estimated, and producing less than a target margin. It supplies fewer polished, out-of-box role scorecards than ServiceTitan. Engage call-agent analytics come from the separate Engage phone product, and Custom Forms response analysis depends on Custom Forms.
KEY FINDINGS
- FieldPulse's template library includes Sales by Technician, Estimate Conversion by User, Sales by Invoice Creator, and Commissions by Recipient.
- Raw job and site-visit reports can compare scheduled versus actual duration, technician punctuality, assigned-user activity, site-visit status, job duration, and margin.

FieldEdge — preset HVAC coaching views, with plan gates
Native; Performance & Commission requires Premier or Elite. FieldEdge combines dashboard technician and CSR metrics with purpose-built reports. Invoiced Items by Employee shows what each technician sold. Invoice Efficiency compares time on a work order with billed activity. Work-order profitability and class reports add financial context. See technician sales reporting and the Invoice Efficiency Report.
These are recognizable coaching tools for an HVAC service manager, but the Select package excludes Performance & Commission and cannot save tailored reports. FieldEdge permissions are configured per employee, so profitability can be kept from one user while exposed to another; leaderboard inclusion can also be controlled. That is practical access control, though less granular than ServiceTitan’s template-level view/edit and creator-sharing model.
KEY FINDINGS
- FieldEdge combines dashboard technician and CSR metrics with purpose-built reports.
- Invoiced Items by Employee shows what each technician sold.
- Invoice Efficiency compares time on a work order with billed activity.

Jobber — productivity based on visits, time, and attributed revenue
Native report; report availability is plan-dependent, permissions are required, and the time metrics depend on timesheet data. Jobber’s Team Productivity report compares visits, job revenue, job time, general time, total time, job productivity, and overall productivity. When several people work a visit, revenue is allocated in proportion to tracked hours; if nobody tracks time, it is divided evenly; if only one person tracks, that person receives the attribution. See Reports Basics and Team Productivity Report.
The calculation is transparent and useful for crew productivity, but it is not a full residential sales scorecard. The report cannot be exported to CSV, and its meaning deteriorates if technicians record time inconsistently. Jobber’s Salesperson Performance report covers quote value, conversion, and salesperson attribution on Connect, Grow, and Plus, while the Insights Dashboard only surfaces a concise top-three team view.
KEY FINDINGS
- Jobber's Team Productivity report compares visits, job revenue, job time, general time, total time, job productivity, and overall productivity.

MEASURING JOB PROFITABILITY AND FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE
Knowing whether a high-revenue installation actually made money
FieldPulse can place customizable cost and margin fields beside operational records. ServiceTitan has the deepest native cost vocabulary and the strongest combination of job, project, payroll, purchase-order, business-unit, WIP, and gross-margin reporting. Housecall Pro offers a clear residential job-cost workflow, FieldEdge is a conditional fit for accounting-centric profitability, and Jobber provides a narrower per-job costing layer on Grow and Plus.
Test Results
FieldPulse offers the strongest margin analysis for most small and midsize contractors; ServiceTitan leads enterprise job, project, payroll, and WIP analysis.
What we compared
- FieldPulse — best configurable mid-market margin analysis
- ServiceTitan — deepest job, project, and enterprise cost analysis
- Housecall Pro — practical residential job costing and goals
- FieldEdge — estimated and anticipated profitability tied closely to accounting
- Jobber — basic per-job margin on Grow and Plus
FieldPulse — best configurable mid-market margin analysis
Native/core. FieldPulse job reports can surface job profit margin alongside duration, assignee, lead source, invoice totals, and custom fields. Invoice and estimate reports expose cost basis, profit dollars, profit percentage, status, payment, and commission-related fields, while Item Usage can compare quantity, total cost, and total price. See Invoice Reports, Estimate Reports, and Item Usage Reports.
Because these are raw-data reports, a manager can segment low-margin installation work by job tag, project, creator, technician, or a company-specific custom field, then turn that view into a widget. FieldPulse does not document the same enterprise WIP and multi-template financial governance as ServiceTitan; its strength is operational flexibility inside the FSM.
KEY FINDINGS
- FieldPulse job reports can surface job profit margin alongside duration, assignee, lead source, invoice totals, and custom fields.
- Invoice and estimate reports expose cost basis, profit dollars, profit percentage, status, payment, and commission-related fields, while Item Usage can compare quantity, total cost, and total price.

ServiceTitan — deepest job, project, and enterprise cost analysis
Native reporting; a custom Project Job Costing report requires The Works or a legacy/non-packaged account, and WIP requires account configuration. ServiceTitan’s job-cost model can combine material, equipment, purchase-order, and payroll costs, then report revenue, total cost, gross margin, and margin percentage. It provides Job Costing Summary, project job-cost templates, WIP analysis for over- and under-billing, business-unit revenue, and report customization. See Run Job Costing Reports, Project Job Costing template, and Work in Progress reporting.
This depth is why ServiceTitan wins enterprise financial analysis, but also why implementation matters. Payroll cost inclusion may require account configuration, rates must be set to avoid double counting, cost categories must be populated, and business units must reflect the operating structure. A polished gross-margin dashboard cannot repair missing purchase orders or inconsistent technician time.
KEY FINDINGS
- ServiceTitan's job-cost model can combine material, equipment, purchase-order, and payroll costs, then report revenue, total cost, gross margin, and margin percentage.
- It provides Job Costing Summary, project job-cost templates, WIP analysis for over- and under-billing, business-unit revenue, and report customization.

Housecall Pro — practical residential job costing and goals
Native job costing; associated commission and package features may vary. Housecall Pro combines labor, material, miscellaneous, and commission costs into total cost and profit margin. Profit can be grouped by date, employee, business unit, or job type, and the resulting report supports standard filters, columns, drill-down, save, and schedule behavior. See Job Costing Reports and the job-costing setup guide.
The workflow is easier to operationalize than ServiceTitan’s broader cost model, but it depends on accurate labor rates, material costs, job inputs, and commissions. Business Insights adds revenue and job-count goals, actual-versus-target pacing, scheduled revenue, and average ticket. Those measures are management indicators, not a substitute for a full profit-and-loss statement or cash accounting.
KEY FINDINGS
- Housecall Pro combines labor, material, miscellaneous, and commission costs into total cost and profit margin.
- Profit can be grouped by date, employee, business unit, or job type, and the resulting report supports standard filters, columns, drill-down, save, and schedule behavior.

FieldEdge — estimated and anticipated profitability tied closely to accounting
Native/core reporting; QuickBooks or Intacct remains part of the financial system. FieldEdge’s Work Order Profitability reporting includes invoice estimated profitability and quote anticipated profitability, with filters, grouping, and sorting. Class Sales Summary compares revenue, profit, invoice count, and average ticket by class. Its QuickBooks integration can carry classes for departmental analysis. See Work Order Profitability, Class Sales Summary, and the FieldEdge–QuickBooks integration overview.
This is a coherent fit for a contractor whose accounting truth already lives in QuickBooks. It is less compelling for an analyst who wants FieldEdge itself to behave like a flexible financial warehouse. Buyers should define which costs originate in the price book, work order, payroll process, inventory, and accounting ledger before comparing margins between systems.
KEY FINDINGS
- FieldEdge's Work Order Profitability reporting includes invoice estimated profitability and quote anticipated profitability, with filters, grouping, and sorting.
- Class Sales Summary compares revenue, profit, invoice count, and average ticket by class.
- Its QuickBooks integration can carry classes for departmental analysis.

Jobber — basic per-job margin on Grow and Plus
Native/plan-gated. Jobber job costing calculates price, cost, profit, and margin from unit costs, timesheets, and expenses for one-off and recurring jobs. The One-Off Jobs report can expose revenue, cost, profit, and margin columns; the Insights Dashboard shows a recent profit snapshot. Plus adds profit alerts and automated supplier-invoice extraction. See Job Costing and One-Off Jobs Report.
Jobber’s calculations are useful and approachable, but eligibility starts on Grow and its fixed report structure offers fewer ways to combine margin with unrelated operational dimensions. Recurring-job costing uses a recent-period view, and active timers do not contribute until stopped, so the owner must understand when a job’s apparent cost is still incomplete.
KEY FINDINGS
- Jobber job costing calculates price, cost, profit, and margin from unit costs, timesheets, and expenses for one-off and recurring jobs.
- The One-Off Jobs report can expose revenue, cost, profit, and margin columns.
- the Insights Dashboard shows a recent profit snapshot.

ATTRIBUTING LEADS, CALLS, AND CAMPAIGNS TO REVENUE
Distinguishing a lead-source label from defensible marketing ROI
ServiceTitan’s Core Marketing Scorecards connect campaign, call, booking, sales, revenue, and ROI measures; Marketing Pro adds deeper campaign and channel analytics. Housecall Pro provides a native lead-source ROI table, while Pipeline, Voice, and Campaigns contribute distinct attribution datasets. FieldEdge has preset HVAC marketing views, Jobber has useful lead-source and UTM analysis, and FieldPulse emphasizes flexible source-to-sales analysis rather than a dedicated marketing-spend ROI workspace.
Test Results
ServiceTitan leads enterprise attribution, while Housecall Pro provides the strongest approachable residential alternative.
What we compared
- ServiceTitan — deepest call-to-campaign-to-revenue model
- Housecall Pro — best accessible lead-source ROI table
- Jobber — useful lead-source reporting; deeper marketing is an add-on
- FieldPulse — flexible source-to-customer, job, estimate, and sale analysis
- FieldEdge — channel visibility with careful core-versus-MarketingEdge labeling
ServiceTitan — deepest call-to-campaign-to-revenue model
Core Marketing Scorecards plus a separate Marketing Pro product. ServiceTitan’s native Marketing Scorecards track leads, inbound calls, booked jobs, sold work, revenue, and ROI by campaign and business unit. Tracking numbers and campaign configuration connect the call and job records to a source. See Marketing Scorecards and the Core feature context in Office Basics.
Marketing Pro analytics extends that base with campaign dashboards, email delivery and engagement, audiences, channel drill-down, and performance reporting. This combination wins because it supports both a standard contractor scorecard and a deeper campaign operation. It is also the easiest to implement badly: reused tracking numbers, unclassified calls, inconsistent campaign mapping, or incorrect business units can make a precise-looking ROI number misleading.
KEY FINDINGS
- ServiceTitan's native Marketing Scorecards track leads, inbound calls, booked jobs, sold work, revenue, and ROI by campaign and business unit.
- Tracking numbers and campaign configuration connect the call and job records to a source.
- See Marketing Scorecards and the Core feature context in Office Basics.

Housecall Pro — best accessible lead-source ROI table
Native in the HVAC Package; Pipeline and Voice are separate products, while Campaigns has plan-based allowances and an Advanced upgrade. The Marketing Dashboard ROI table reports customers, jobs, and revenue by lead source and lets the user choose which record carries the source and which earnings basis to attribute. See the HVAC Package overview and Marketing Dashboard: ROI Table. Standard job and estimate reports can also group and filter by lead source.
The deeper funnels need their underlying capability. Conversion Rate Reporting states that Pipeline is required for lead conversion and Voice for call-to-job conversion. Pipeline is a separate product on standard plans and bundled in HVAC Package MAX; Voice is separate. Campaigns is available to Housecall Pro users with allowances that vary by plan, while Campaigns Advanced is the paid upgrade. Campaign attribution counts completed jobs under a 30-day, last-touch rule rather than every future purchase. Housecall Pro’s strength is making these concepts understandable; the buyer still needs to distinguish customer source, job source, call influence, and campaign influence rather than treating them as interchangeable.
KEY FINDINGS
- The Marketing Dashboard ROI table reports customers, jobs, and revenue by lead source and lets the user choose which record carries the source and which earnings basis to attribute.
- See the HVAC Package overview and Marketing Dashboard: ROI Table.
- Standard job and estimate reports can also group and filter by lead source.

Jobber — useful lead-source reporting; deeper marketing is an add-on
Native core source reports; Marketing Suite is an add-on and included with Plus. Jobber’s Clients report exposes lead source, UTM data, quotes, jobs, conversion, and revenue. The Lead Source report shows lead-stage counts and first-invoice value by source, while the Insights Dashboard shows recent first-invoice revenue by source. See Clients Report and Lead Source Report.
The Insights lead-source card specifically uses sent first-invoice revenue for leads created in the last 90 days; the Clients and Lead Source reports use their own report filters and definitions. Jobber’s paid Marketing Performance layer expands analysis across campaigns, reviews, referrals, website, and sources. Campaign reporting automatically updates delivery, open, click, recipient, and attributed-job results, but uses defined 30- and 90-day windows. Label it Marketing Suite analysis, not baseline reporting.
KEY FINDINGS
- Jobber's Clients report exposes lead source, UTM data, quotes, jobs, conversion, and revenue.
- The Lead Source report shows lead-stage counts and first-invoice value by source, while the Insights Dashboard shows recent first-invoice revenue by source.

FieldPulse — flexible source-to-customer, job, estimate, and sale analysis
Native/core; phone analytics require Engage. FieldPulse can group customers by lead source, combine source with pipeline status, tags, location, custom fields, and invoice total, and report jobs, projects, estimates, and payments using related customer lead-source fields. Its template library includes Sales by Lead Source, while estimate reporting can calculate conversion. See Customer Reports, Job Reports, and Estimate Reports.
This is strong operational attribution: “Which source produced these customers, accepted estimates, invoices, and margins?” It is not the same as a managed advertising-cost and multi-touch ROI engine. Engage’s separate phone reporting adds line, lead-source, answering-user, outcome, duration, recording, and note data for companies that license FieldPulse’s phone system.
KEY FINDINGS
- FieldPulse can group customers by lead source, combine source with pipeline status, tags, location, custom fields, and invoice total, and report jobs, projects, estimates, and payments using related customer lead-source fields.
- Its template library includes Sales by Lead Source, while estimate reporting can calculate conversion.

FieldEdge — channel visibility with careful core-versus-MarketingEdge labeling
Core lead-source setup; dashboard phone attribution requires qualification. FieldEdge can record Call Lead Source. Separately, its dashboard page markets unique tracking numbers and advanced phone integration for channel-revenue and ROI views. See FieldEdge’s HVAC reporting overview and lead-source setup.
MarketingEdge adds campaign automation, email, forms, and two-way texting; it is included in Elite and quoted separately on Select/Premier. It should not be used as the explanation for every core lead-source result. Conversely, a dashboard ROI card is only as reliable as tracking-number, source, job, and revenue discipline. FieldEdge publishes less attribution-rule detail than Housecall Pro or ServiceTitan, so teams should validate how repeat customers and multi-touch journeys are credited.
KEY FINDINGS
- FieldEdge can record Call Lead Source.
- Separately, its dashboard page markets unique tracking numbers and advanced phone integration for channel-revenue and ROI views.

ANALYZING MEMBERSHIPS AND RECURRING REVENUE
Seeing renewals, cancellations, value, and unperformed visits before revenue leaks
ServiceTitan provides the broader membership template, revenue, renewal, cancellation, and deferred-revenue context. Housecall Pro puts active memberships, monthly recurring revenue, net growth, retention, renewals, and renewal value together on one HVAC KPI page. FieldPulse offers flexible agreement-record reporting, FieldEdge emphasizes upcoming and expiring agreements, and Jobber reports recurring jobs rather than a dedicated membership lifecycle.
Test Results
ServiceTitan leads enterprise membership analysis; Housecall Pro has the best ready-made residential membership view.
What we compared
- ServiceTitan — deepest membership and member-economics reporting
- Housecall Pro — best immediate HVAC membership dashboard
- FieldPulse — customizable agreement portfolio analysis
- FieldEdge — practical renewal, billing, and scheduling oversight
- Jobber — recurring-job reporting, not a full HVAC membership model
ServiceTitan — deepest membership and member-economics reporting
Native membership templates; custom construction depends on package. ServiceTitan’s Customer Memberships template can report status, billing and renewal dates, sold-by attribution, type, customer and location context, and other membership measures. Membership Summary supports new sales, renewals, and cancellations, while a custom workflow can compare average revenue from members. See the Customer Memberships report template and member average-revenue report.
ServiceTitan also supports deferred-revenue workflows for included recurring services, which matters when management reporting must agree with accounting treatment. Its edge is analytical breadth and financial context rather than a simpler screen. Configuration of membership types, recurring services, billing, recognition, sold-by fields, business units, and cancellation handling determines whether the resulting membership and renewal numbers are trustworthy.
KEY FINDINGS
- ServiceTitan's Customer Memberships template can report status, billing and renewal dates, sold-by attribution, type, customer and location context, and other membership measures.
- Membership Summary supports new sales, renewals, and cancellations, while a custom workflow can compare average revenue from members.
- See the Customer Memberships report template and member average-revenue report.

Housecall Pro — best immediate HVAC membership dashboard
Native reporting that depends on Service Plans. Recurring Service Plans are listed on MAX in Housecall Pro’s standard plan table, but the current HVAC Package bundles Membership Plans from Essentials. Housecall Pro’s Mechanical KPI Dashboard shows active memberships by trade, prorated monthly recurring revenue, net new plans, retention rate, upcoming renewals in 7-, 14-, and 30-day windows, and the associated renewal value. The dedicated Service Plans dashboard also shows plan summary, recurring revenue, billing needs, and unscheduled visits. See the KPI membership metrics and Service Plans Dashboard.
Dedicated Service Plan reporting can analyze plans and revenue by date, employee, and plan type. This is the cleanest residential membership review in the comparison. It does not equal ServiceTitan’s wider accounting, custom-template, and cross-tenant reporting, and none of the cards will be meaningful until plan statuses, sold-by attribution, billing, cancellations, and renewals are maintained consistently.
KEY FINDINGS
- Recurring Service Plans are listed on MAX in Housecall Pro's standard plan table, but the current HVAC Package bundles Membership Plans from Essentials.
- Housecall Pro's Mechanical KPI Dashboard shows active memberships by trade, prorated monthly recurring revenue, net new plans, retention rate, upcoming renewals in 7-, 14-, and 30-day windows, and the associated renewal value.

FieldPulse — customizable agreement portfolio analysis
Native/core reporting over the Maintenance Agreements feature. FieldPulse’s Maintenance Agreement reports can include status, customer, location, start date, price per bill, total annual fee, billing frequency, agreement frequency, last occurrence, next occurrence, and the job created for that occurrence. A manager can group by customer, plan frequency, billing cycle, or another record field, then export or place the result on a dashboard. See Maintenance Agreement Reports.
FieldPulse is strongest when the contractor wants a custom exception view—such as active annual agreements with an overdue occurrence, no next job, and less than a target annual fee. Housecall Pro supplies more polished retention and renewal cards out of the box; ServiceTitan has deeper enterprise membership economics.
KEY FINDINGS
- FieldPulse's Maintenance Agreement reports can include status, customer, location, start date, price per bill, total annual fee, billing frequency, agreement frequency, last occurrence, next occurrence, and the job created for that occurrence.
- A manager can group by customer, plan frequency, billing cycle, or another record field, then export or place the result on a dashboard.

FieldEdge — practical renewal, billing, and scheduling oversight
Native service-agreement reporting; advanced agreement functionality depends on plan. FieldEdge’s dashboard surfaces agreements approaching expiration, while its service-agreement workflow tracks renewal, billing, and scheduling dates across customer records. Agreement plans can be separated in reports, helping an office prioritize renewals and upcoming visits. See the FieldEdge service-agreement program overview and Agreement Plans reporting setup.
This is operationally useful for an HVAC contractor: staff can see what must renew or be scheduled. FieldEdge publishes less detail about retention trends, cancellation reasons, member-versus-nonmember economics, and deferred revenue than ServiceTitan, and less of a single membership KPI story than Housecall Pro. Premier’s Advanced Service Agreements should also be distinguished from the base reporting entitlement.
KEY FINDINGS
- FieldEdge's dashboard surfaces agreements approaching expiration, while its service-agreement workflow tracks renewal, billing, and scheduling dates across customer records.
- Agreement plans can be separated in reports, helping an office prioritize renewals and upcoming visits.

Jobber — recurring-job reporting, not a full HVAC membership model
Native recurring-work reports. Jobber’s Recurring Jobs report covers active status, client, billing type, automatic invoicing, assigned visits, line items, total, completed visits, invoice count, schedule, and—on plans with Custom Fields—reportable custom fields. The Insights Dashboard adds recurring-versus-one-off work, average recurring-job value, and monthly recurring-job value. See Recurring Jobs Report, Custom Fields, and the Insights Dashboard.
That is sufficient for a contractor selling repeating maintenance visits as jobs. It is not equivalent to a dedicated HVAC membership ledger: Jobber does not document standard active-member, retention, renewal, cancellation, and monthly-recurring-revenue-by-plan analytics comparable to Housecall Pro. Job costing is also absent from the Recurring Jobs report itself, even though Grow/Plus can calculate recurring-job cost elsewhere.
KEY FINDINGS
- Jobber's Recurring Jobs report covers active status, client, billing type, automatic invoicing, assigned visits, line items, total, completed visits, invoice count, schedule, and—on plans with Custom Fields—reportable custom fields.
- The Insights Dashboard adds recurring-versus-one-off work, average recurring-job value, and monthly recurring-job value.

GOVERNING REPORTING ACROSS LOCATIONS AND ROLES
Comparing branches without exposing payroll, margin, or customer data to the wrong users
Enterprise Hub provides the most developed cross-tenant reports and dashboards, while the underlying platform controls report-template view/edit access, categories, business units, and creator sharing. Jobber Central is a specialized group workspace, Housecall Pro provides franchise-specific reporting and standardization, and FieldEdge handles business units and classes inside its more accounting-centered model.
Test Results
ServiceTitan leads cross-tenant governance; FieldPulse is the strongest lighter franchise-rollup alternative.
What we compared
- ServiceTitan — strongest cross-tenant reporting and permission governance
- FieldPulse — strong linked-account and franchise rollups
- Jobber — specialized Jobber Central rollups, not core advanced analytics
- Housecall Pro — useful location filters and franchise controls, narrower consolidation
- FieldEdge — business-unit and class analysis inside an established operation
ServiceTitan — strongest cross-tenant reporting and permission governance
Enterprise Hub is a separate SKU; core report permissions remain inside each tenant. Enterprise Hub Rollup Reporting can consolidate multiple tenants by brand, region, location, or other structures; build, filter, export, and schedule reports; and create Rollup Dashboards from built-in or custom reports. Administrators can also push and pull standardized reports and dashboards between Hub and tenants. See Enterprise Hub, Rollup Reporting, and Rollup Dashboards.
Within reporting, view and edit permissions can be assigned by template and category, custom-report creators control sharing, and business-unit-specific reporting restrictions can be configured, but this requires account configuration. The reporting permissions guide shows the governance depth. It also exposes a risk: a report can appear blank or inaccessible when template, category, sharing, role, or business-unit permissions do not align.
KEY FINDINGS
- Enterprise Hub Rollup Reporting can consolidate multiple tenants by brand, region, location, or other structures.
- build, filter, export, and schedule reports.
- and create Rollup Dashboards from built-in or custom reports.

FieldPulse — strong linked-account and franchise rollups
Enterprise multi-location plus a separate Master Account/Franchise linked-account structure. FieldPulse Roll-Up Reporting consolidates data from linked businesses or franchisees and covers invoices, estimates, jobs, and assets. Each business needs its own FieldPulse account, and FieldPulse Support must link the accounts under a Master Account or Franchise structure. A franchisor can then select locations and date ranges, filter and choose columns, compare companies, save reports/widgets, and export CSV. See Master Account/Franchise reporting and the franchise roll-up guide; FieldPulse pricing separately places multi-location management and Open API in Enterprise.
Within an account, role and feature permissions control who can see data and reporting functions. FieldPulse offers more flexible cross-location report construction than Housecall Pro’s limited parent exports and less enterprise governance than ServiceTitan. It is a particularly strong fit for a growing regional contractor or franchise system whose custom fields and report logic already live in FieldPulse.
KEY FINDINGS
- FieldPulse Roll-Up Reporting consolidates data from linked businesses or franchisees and covers invoices, estimates, jobs, and assets.
- Each business needs its own FieldPulse account, and FieldPulse Support must link the accounts under a Master Account or Franchise structure.
- A franchisor can then select locations and date ranges, filter and choose columns, compare companies, save reports/widgets, and export CSV.

Jobber — specialized Jobber Central rollups, not core advanced analytics
Specialized franchise/multi-location environment. Jobber Central aggregates payments, invoices, royalties, unit KPIs, lead funnels, review trends, quote conversion, and top sources across independent Jobber accounts. Head office can filter by date or unit and compare activity and results without signing into each location. See Jobber Central Basics, Reviews in Jobber Central, Quote Tracking, and Top Performing Sources.
Central is more than a CSV workaround, but it is not a standard dashboard available to every Jobber subscriber. Each operating account remains independent and the group environment has its own users and permissions. Standard linked-account exports are less polished: matching custom-field names matter, some ranges are limited, and cross-account client history is not unified.
KEY FINDINGS
- Jobber Central aggregates payments, invoices, royalties, unit KPIs, lead funnels, review trends, quote conversion, and top sources across independent Jobber accounts.
- Head office can filter by date or unit and compare activity and results without signing into each location.

Housecall Pro — useful location filters and franchise controls, narrower consolidation
Native multi-location/franchise functionality, not a standard single-account report entitlement. Housecall Pro multi-location accounts can filter jobs and estimates by location, group results by location, include location in drill-down/export, and roll up customer lists. See Using a Multi-Location HCP Account.
Franchisors can export payments across all locations, but the parent payment report permits only one month per request. Command & Control can standardize job fields, tags, and lead sources across linked accounts, improving data consistency. Housecall Pro’s model is valuable for a franchise network already on the platform, but it is less complete than ServiceTitan Enterprise Hub or FieldPulse roll-up dashboards for broad cross-tenant analysis.
KEY FINDINGS
- Housecall Pro multi-location accounts can filter jobs and estimates by location, group results by location, include location in drill-down/export, and roll up customer lists.
- See Using a Multi-Location HCP Account.

FieldEdge — business-unit and class analysis inside an established operation
Native dashboard/reporting; access is configured per employee. FieldEdge can compare business units, territories, and revenue streams from its dashboard. Class Sales Summary breaks out revenue, profit, invoice count, and average ticket, and QuickBooks classes can support departmental reporting. See Class Sales Summary and the QuickBooks integration overview.
Permissions are assigned per employee, so two dispatchers can have different access to profitability or other sensitive functions. FieldEdge documents dashboard comparison across business units, territories, and classes, but not an Enterprise Hub-style layer for governing and distributing reports across autonomous tenants.

DELIVERING DATA BEYOND THE REPORTING SCREEN
Getting a Monday scorecard to managers—or operational data into a BI stack
Jobber’s vendor-built scheduler covers only a report subset. FieldEdge exports widely but documents only a fixed daily dispatch subscription rather than general saved-report scheduling.
Test Results
ServiceTitan leads enterprise scheduling and data access; Housecall Pro is strongest for simple recurring email delivery; FieldPulse provides the best customizable-dashboard, CSV, and Enterprise API path for most smaller teams.
What we compared
- ServiceTitan — strongest scheduled, API, and enterprise delivery
- Housecall Pro — best simple native report scheduling
- FieldPulse — strong export and Enterprise API path
- Jobber — a vendor-built scheduler app with a defined report list

ServiceTitan — strongest scheduled, API, and enterprise delivery
Native scheduling/export plus developer and marketplace extension paths. ServiceTitan can schedule Simple reports with recipient-specific data or Flexible reports with customized layout and filters but the same result for every recipient. Scheduling supports recipients, cadence, date and business-unit filters, and PDF or XLSX attachments; manual exports support PDF/XLSX, with an optional setting to export only aggregated data. See Schedule Reports and Run, Filter, and Export Reports.
Enterprise Hub can schedule rollup reports. On The Works or Enterprise Plus, the Customer-Built Apps path can use the V2 API developer setup to expose jobs, projects, invoices, payroll, pricebook, and other domains through OAuth-based endpoints with administrator-managed app access; the approved integration guidance documents that package boundary. Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or warehouse consolidation remains API/custom work or a separate marketplace integration such as BUCS or Peaka—not a native Core BI connector.
KEY FINDINGS
- ServiceTitan can schedule Simple reports with recipient-specific data or Flexible reports with customized layout and filters but the same result for every recipient.
- Scheduling supports recipients, cadence, date and business-unit filters, and PDF or XLSX attachments.

Housecall Pro — best simple native report scheduling
Native/core scheduling; API is MAX. After saving a report, an authorized Housecall Pro user can share it or schedule it daily, weekly, monthly, or once. Dynamic date ranges advance at send time. Recipients must be Housecall Pro employees with reporting access; the email contains a static PDF snapshot and a link to the live report. See Managing Reports.
Reports and list views also support export, while MAX includes Open API access for custom data workflows. QuickBooks Online on eligible plans is an accounting sync, not an analytics warehouse. Full report creation, dashboard layout, and scheduling are web-office activities; Housecall Pro field technicians are mobile-only and do not get equivalent report-authoring controls in the app.
KEY FINDINGS
- After saving a report, an authorized Housecall Pro user can share it or schedule it daily, weekly, monthly, or once.

FieldPulse — strong export and Enterprise API path
Native CSV and mobile dashboards; Enterprise Open API; third-party automation integrations. Raw reports export the selected operational dataset to CSV, and the custom dashboard updates saved widgets automatically. Service agents can view Pulse Dashboard in the mobile app. Enterprise adds Open API, with documented endpoints across platform data, and FieldPulse also offers Zapier. See Raw Data Reporting, FieldPulse API, and Zapier integration.
FieldPulse’s native sharing model centers on saved reports, live dashboard widgets, and on-demand CSV rather than a general recurring email scheduler. The API is a developer route, while Zapier is an integration whose behavior and cost also depend on Zapier. Neither should be described as a one-click native Power BI or Tableau connection.
KEY FINDINGS
- Raw reports export the selected operational dataset to CSV, and the custom dashboard updates saved widgets automatically.
- Service agents can view Pulse Dashboard in the mobile app.
- Enterprise adds Open API, with documented endpoints across platform data, and FieldPulse also offers Zapier.

Jobber — a vendor-built scheduler app with a defined report list
Vendor-built app, not universal in-report scheduling. Jobber’s Report Scheduler connects through its App Marketplace and emails CSVs daily, weekly, or monthly to one or more recipients. It supports nine report types: aged receivables, bad debt, client contact information, client properties, invoices, projected income, one-off jobs, visits, and recurring jobs. See Report Scheduler App.
Many Jobber reports also export selected or all columns by emailed CSV, although several special-format reports and Team Productivity cannot export. Formal reporting is a Jobber.com workflow. On Plus, the Jobber GraphQL API provides OAuth, scopes, versioning, webhooks, and a path to custom BI, but requires development; Jobber’s Plus-plan guide describes the API access and onboarding route. Zapier and accounting syncs are integrations, not native analytical dashboards.
KEY FINDINGS
- Jobber's Report Scheduler connects through its App Marketplace and emails CSVs daily, weekly, or monthly to one or more recipients.
- It supports nine report types: aged receivables, bad debt, client contact information, client properties, invoices, projected income, one-off jobs, visits, and recurring jobs.

Mobile viewing is broader than mobile report creation. ServiceTitan has a technician mobile scorecard, FieldPulse exposes Pulse Dashboard in its mobile app, and Jobber AI can answer some administrative data questions on mobile. Housecall Pro field technicians lack web-portal access, Jobber’s formal report builder is a web workflow, and FieldEdge’s mobile app concentrates on field operations rather than full report design. A buyer should test viewing, filtering, exporting, scheduling, and authoring separately rather than treating “mobile access” as one capability.
FieldEdge — CSV, a fixed dispatch email, and accounting-centered integration
Native CSV and fixed report subscription; API access is partner-oriented. Enhanced reports can export all rows to CSV. FieldEdge also has a configurable 5-Day Dispatch report that emails the next five days’ schedule each day. That is a useful operational subscription, but it should not be generalized into arbitrary scheduling for every saved report. See 5-Day Dispatch report setup.
QuickBooks Online/Desktop integration is included across plans, and FieldEdge also lists Intacct; these are accounting connections rather than dashboarding tools. FieldEdge’s API portal describes access for integrated partners, not the Plus-plan Open API route offered by Jobber or Enterprise Open API offered by FieldPulse. The cited official sources document CSV export, accounting integrations, and partner API access, but not a self-service Power BI or Tableau connector.
KEY FINDINGS
- Enhanced reports can export all rows to CSV.
- FieldEdge also has a configurable 5-Day Dispatch report that emails the next five days' schedule each day.

HVAC REPORTING SOFTWARE FAQS
What is HVAC reporting and analytics software?
HVAC reporting and analytics software organizes data from calls, estimates, jobs, technicians, invoices, payments, equipment, and maintenance programs into dashboards and reports. It can show operational KPIs such as conversion, average ticket, technician productivity, job margin, receivables, agreement renewals, and marketing-source revenue. The field-service platform is the operational data source; accounting software remains necessary for the general ledger, and external BI may still be needed for complex cross-system analysis.
What is the best HVAC reporting software?
FieldPulse is the best overall HVAC reporting software for most small and midsize contractors because it combines broad raw-data reporting, pivots, charts, reusable reports, and live custom widgets without ServiceTitan's implementation scope. ServiceTitan is the best enterprise option for organizations that need the broadest analysis and governance, including technician and marketing scorecards, job costing, scheduled delivery, and Enterprise Hub rollups. Housecall Pro is the strongest simpler KPI-led option for residential HVAC reporting.
Is ServiceTitan or FieldPulse better for HVAC analytics?
FieldPulse is better for most small and midsize buyers; ServiceTitan is better when the organization genuinely needs enterprise governance, cross-tenant rollups, and deeper package-controlled analytics. FieldPulse lets a manager filter, group, pivot, visualize, save, and export a broad set of operational records with less administrative overhead. ServiceTitan adds governed templates, role permissions, technician scorecards, scheduled reporting, compatible two-template joins, and Enterprise Hub rollups. FieldPulse's Open API and multi-location controls are Enterprise features.
Does Housecall Pro provide HVAC technician KPIs and scheduled reports?
Yes. Housecall Pro's Mechanical KPI Dashboard can rank technicians by revenue, job count, average ticket, conversion, and customer rating; the leaderboard requires Essentials or MAX. Its saved reports can be scheduled daily, weekly, monthly, or once and sent as a PDF snapshot with a live-report link. Commission, time, Pipeline, Voice, and membership measures require their underlying features, products, or HVAC Package tier, so buyers should map each KPI to actual entitlement and data collection.
Which HVAC reporting software is best for a small business?
FieldPulse is the best reporting choice for most small and midsize HVAC businesses because it combines flexible custom analysis with approachable dashboards. Housecall Pro is the stronger simpler option when ready-made technician or membership KPIs and scheduled reports matter more than open-ended report construction. Jobber should be considered only when a basic owner dashboard and preset reports are sufficient.
Can all five platforms report HVAC job profitability?
Yes, but their profitability capabilities are not equivalent. ServiceTitan has the broadest cost and WIP model. FieldPulse combines margin with flexible operational dimensions. Housecall Pro provides configurable labor, material, miscellaneous, and commission cost reports. FieldEdge offers estimated and anticipated work-order profitability with close accounting integration. Jobber job costing requires Grow or Plus, and Plus adds profit alerts and automated supplier-invoice extraction.
Can HVAC reports be viewed or created on an iPhone?
Mobile viewing is broader than mobile report creation. ServiceTitan has a technician mobile scorecard, FieldPulse exposes Pulse Dashboard in its mobile app, and Jobber AI can answer some administrative data questions on mobile. Housecall Pro field technicians lack web-portal access, Jobber's formal report builder is a web workflow, and FieldEdge's mobile app concentrates on field operations rather than full report design. A buyer should test viewing, filtering, exporting, scheduling, and authoring separately rather than treating “mobile access” as one capability.
Does HVAC reporting software replace QuickBooks or a BI platform?
No. HVAC reporting software is best at connecting operational records—calls, jobs, technicians, estimates, equipment, agreements, invoices, and payments. QuickBooks, Xero, Intacct, or another accounting system remains the financial ledger. Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or a data warehouse becomes relevant when the company must combine field-service data with payroll, advertising, telephony, ERP, or other systems. APIs and marketplace connectors are integration paths, not native analytics features.
