What is the best plumbing service agreement software?
RECOMMENDED
FieldPulse
Best all-in-one plumbing service agreement software
Top benefits
- Connects proposals, contracts, agreements, recurring jobs, billing, member pricing, covered assets, mobile work, and reporting.
- Strongest equipment, warranty, condition, service-history, commercial, and multi-property depth.
- Limitation: connected native modules require more initial configuration than one simplified membership screen.
RECOMMENDED
Housecall Pro
Best for selling residential plumbing memberships
Top benefits
- Guided workflow for selling standardized residential memberships from a job.
- Simple automatic plan discounts, included visits, recurring payments, renewals, and status visibility.
- Limitation: less flexible for formal contracts, detailed equipment records, commercial accounts, custom pricing, and customized reporting.
Jobber
Not recommended
Top concerns
- No dedicated maintenance-agreement feature.
- Better suited to recurring jobs and automatic payments than complete service-contract management.
- Agreement benefits, equipment coverage, renewals, and membership reporting require additional processes or integrations.
Our verdict
FieldPulse is the best plumbing service agreement software for contractors that want an all-in-one solution. It has the most integrated, complete features and goes well beyond the initial sell with detailed asset management.
Housecall Pro is best for plumbing companies that want a simpler, more guided residential membership workflow. It is particularly strong for selling a predefined plan from a job, applying one direct plan discount, scheduling standard included visits, displaying basic membership status, and managing fixed-term renewals.
Jobber lacks a true maintenance agreement feature so it is not recommended although it can manage some aspects of a maintenance agreement like repeating jobs and automatic payments.
How We Tested
The Tools in the Wild editorial team tested Housecall Pro, FieldPulse, and Jobber in July 2026 using trial and paid accounts. We completed the same service agreement workflows on desktop and iPhone, documented the results with screenshots and written notes, and checked results against current first-party vendor documentation.
We evaluated how each platform would handle plumbing memberships including:
- An annual whole-home plumbing inspection
- A member discount on qualifying repairs
- Optional add-ons such as drain treatment, water-quality testing, or an additional property
- Monthly or annual billing
- Renewal follow-up
- Technician access to agreement and service-history information
We also considered a more complex commercial or property-management contract involving multiple properties, several pieces of equipment, different service frequencies, centralized billing, customized contract terms, and detailed operational reporting.
Jobber was not included in every detailed head-to-head test because it doesn’t have a dedicated maintenance agreement feature unlike FieldPulse Maintenance Agreements or Housecall Pro Service Plans.

HVAC teams need software that can organize equipment records, support linked service and warranty histories, and help employees identify systems that require attention.
Test Results
Each product is strongest for a different type of business.
FieldPulse is the best fit for businesses that want to design and control their own custom pricebooks. It provides three documented starting points: create a new pricebook, import an existing one, or have FieldPulse import one of its templates. Administrators can then configure role access, a branded theme, labor costs, hourly overhead, default and category-specific markups, nested categories, tags, add-ons, and good-better-best displays.
Housecall Pro is a strong fit for businesses that want a choice between building their own native pricebook and using managed, prebuilt content. Its native Price Book supports services, materials, industries, categories, subcategories, labor rates, material markups, and calculated flat-rate services. It also supports integration with Profit Rhino, a separate prebuilt option that can be integrated into the software.
ServiceTitan is the strongest fit for businesses with large or complex pricebooks that require bulk maintenance and provider-catalog connectivity. Companies can manage services, materials, and equipment; import or export an XLSX pricebook; edit items in bulk in the application or through spreadsheets; add Pricebook Pro content; and use Pricebook Connect to add, map, and update supplier and other provider catalogs.
FieldEdge is the best fit for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliance-repair contractors that want to begin with a maintained repair database instead of constructing every repair manually. FieldEdge Flat Rate, powered by Coolfront, includes more than 30,000 repairs and is regularly updated. Prices can be adjusted, and custom repairs can be created when the required repair is not in the database.
Jobber is the best fit for businesses that need a straightforward, reusable products-and-services list. It supports descriptions, unit costs, markups, prices, photos, tax settings, online-booking settings, and CSV-based importing, updating, and exporting. Jobber describes this feature as a default price list, however, rather than a prebuilt trade-repair database.

- Does the vendor offer templates, prebuilt content, or a maintained repair database?
- Can labor, materials, overhead, and markup be incorporated into flat-rate pricing?
- Can services and materials be organized using categories, subcategories, tags, or similar tools?
- Can businesses control employee access, technician visibility, and pricing permissions?
- Can the customer-facing pricebook be branded or enhanced with images and sales options?
- Does the system support good-better-best options, add-ons, or multiple proposals?
- Can large pricebooks be edited efficiently through spreadsheets or in-app bulk actions?
- Can supplier, manufacturer, or other provider catalogs be connected and updated?
- Can technicians access and use the pricebook from mobile devices?
- Is the product a full trade-focused repair database or a simpler, user-maintained products-and-services list?
How do the vendors compare?
FieldPulse — Best for custom-built pricebooks: Gives HVAC businesses multiple ways to start a pricebook and extensive control over labor, overhead, markups, categories, tags, branding, role access, and good-better-best options.
FieldEdge — Best for a managed repair database: Starts businesses with a regularly maintained repair database while still allowing custom repairs and company-specific pricing.
ServiceTitan — Best for enterprise pricebook administration: Supports large, complex pricebooks with services, materials, bulk editing, spreadsheet imports and exports, Pricebook Pro content, and connected provider catalogs.
Housecall Pro — Best for native calculated pricebooks: Lets businesses build their own services and materials with calculated flat-rate pricing while offering Profit Rhino as an optional prebuilt content library rather than the only setup path.
Jobber — Good for simple products and services lists: Provides an easy-to-manage default price list with descriptions, costs, markups, prices, booking settings, and CSV import and export, but it is not a full trade repair database.
Why FieldPulse is the best fit for a highly configurable flat-rate pricebook
FieldPulse gives businesses substantial control over how a pricebook is created, calculated, organized, presented, and accessed.
A business can create a new FieldPulse Pricebook, use the pricebook import tool to bring in an existing Excel, Google Sheets, or CSV book, or contact FieldPulse to have a FieldPulse template imported. This provides a practical starting point for companies that already have a book as well as those constructing one for the first time.
After creating or importing the book, administrators can configure its name, description, employee-role access, and theme. Pricing settings include hourly labor cost, hourly overhead cost, a default markup percentage, and custom markup categories. For example, a company can establish different markups for labor, specific material-cost ranges, or particular types of supplies and equipment.
The Pricebook Builder supports categories and nested subcategories, flat-rate job tags, add-on lists, and customer-facing list or good-better-best displays. Each flat-rate job can include labor hours, overhead, materials, descriptions, images, markup rules, and line-item ordering. Technicians can then use the pricebook from the mobile application to populate an estimate, invoice, or variant proposal.
Pros
- Supports new pricebooks, spreadsheet imports, and support-assisted FieldPulse templates.
- Includes role access, a brand-matching theme, labor cost, hourly overhead, default markup, and custom markup categories.
- Supports nested categories, tags, add-on lists, images, and list or good-better-best presentations.
- Makes completed pricebook jobs available for estimates, invoices, and variant proposals on mobile.
Cons
- Starting from a FieldPulse template requires contacting FieldPulse support or using its in-app chat rather than selecting the template through a self-service library.
Why Housecall Pro is the best fit for native setup with an optional prebuilt route
Housecall Pro provides two distinct pricebook paths: businesses can build and maintain their own native Housecall Pro Price Book, or they can add Profit Rhino for prebuilt, vendor-managed content.
Using Housecall Pro’s native tools, administrators can organize services by industry, category, and nested subcategory. Individual services can include a name, description, task code, image, unit, company cost, customer price, tax setting, duration, online-booking availability, employee assignment, and troubleshooting questions. Materials are managed in a separate section with their own categories and subcategories.
Businesses can start from scratch or import services and materials from Excel, CSV, and several other supported file formats. The import wizard maps the source columns to Housecall Pro’s fields and validates errors before completing the upload.
When Flat Rate Pricing is enabled, a service can be connected to a labor rate and the required materials. Housecall Pro applies the configured labor rates and material-markup tiers automatically when calculating the service price. Material inputs can also be tracked on jobs for job-costing purposes without displaying those inputs to the customer.
Profit Rhino is an optional add-on for companies that prefer managed service and material content. Profit Rhino-managed items can continue receiving content and cost updates. This is an alternative to native construction—not the only way to create a Housecall Pro Price Book.
Pros
- Supports native services and materials built from scratch, as well as spreadsheet-based imports.
- Organizes services through industries, categories, and multiple subcategory levels.
- Calculates flat-rate services using configured labor rates, linked materials, and material-markup tiers.
- Offers Profit Rhino as an optional source of prebuilt and maintained content.
Cons
- Profit Rhino-managed services and materials are largely read-only. Converting an item to Housecall Pro-managed status provides more editing control, but that item stops receiving future Profit Rhino content updates.
Why ServiceTitan is the best fit for large pricebooks and provider catalogs
ServiceTitan offers the broadest documented set of tools in this group for maintaining a large pricebook, making high-volume changes, and connecting external catalog content.
The core ServiceTitan Pricebook supports services, materials, equipment, discounts, and related pricebook content. Service items can include sold hours, recommendations, images, and video, while materials can be sold directly or connected to services and equipment for pricing and job-costing purposes.
Businesses can import and export an XLSX pricebook. ServiceTitan also supports two forms of high-volume maintenance: users can edit multiple items in the in-app pricebook table, or download the book, make spreadsheet changes, and import the edited file.
Pricebook Pro provides trade-focused services and related content, including sold hours and material costs used to establish pricing. ServiceTitan documents regular content updates intended to keep costs and prices current.
Pricebook Connect serves a different purpose. It lets businesses add items from Pricebook Pro, supplier catalogs, and other integrated providers. Existing pricebook items can be mapped to provider content, selected fields can be synchronized, and later provider changes can be reviewed from the Updates screen.
Pros
- Supports services, materials, equipment, discounts, and supporting sales content in one pricebook structure.
- Provides both in-app bulk editing and spreadsheet-based editing and re-importing.
- Offers trade-focused Pricebook Pro content with regular content updates.
- Connects Pricebook Pro, supplier catalogs, and other provider catalogs through Pricebook Connect.
- Allows provider data to be mapped and synchronized with items already in the company pricebook.
Cons
- Provider catalogs require active administration. Connecting a provider does not eliminate setup: items must be added or mapped, the fields to synchronize must be selected, and subsequent provider changes must be reviewed.
Why FieldEdge is the best fit for a maintained trade-repair database
FieldEdge Flat Rate is designed for contractors who would rather start from an established repair library than manually construct every service and repair.
According to FieldEdge’s official FieldEdge Flat Rate partner page, the product is powered by Coolfront and includes a fully managed database of more than 30,000 repairs. FieldEdge says the database is regularly updated and is designed for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical contractors.
The broader Coolfront and FieldEdge Flat Rate page also describes pricing for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliance repairs. Businesses can adjust the supplied pricing to fit their own requirements, and technicians can access FieldEdge Flat Rate through supported mobile devices.
Companies are not limited to the supplied repairs. FieldEdge’s support documentation explains that users can create a custom repair when the required work is not available in the database. Pricing can also be modified by changing hourly and tax rates, markup settings, or individual repairs.
Pros
- Starts businesses with a vendor-managed library rather than an empty service list.
- The dedicated product page says the library includes more than 30,000 repairs and receives regular updates.
- Allows businesses to adjust pricing and create custom repairs when a catalog repair does not fit the job.
- Supports mobile access for technicians working from customer work orders.
Cons
- More difficult to design your own custom pricebook
Why Jobber is the best fit for a simple products-and-services list
Jobber’s approach is lighter than the dedicated trade pricebooks offered by the other products. It is useful for businesses that need reusable line items and basic price-list maintenance but do not need a prebuilt repair database.
Jobber describes its Products & Services List as a default price list used to populate line items on quotes, jobs, and invoices. Each item can include a product-or-service type, name, description, unit cost, markup, unit price, photo, tax status, and active or inactive status. Unit costs, markups, and photos are available only on select plans.
Services can also be configured for online booking. Businesses can specify a duration, allow customers to select quantities, and establish minimum and maximum booking quantities.
The list can be imported from CSV, updated in bulk by editing and reimporting the CSV, and exported for backup or external maintenance. Supported import fields include item name, description, unit price, taxable status, Product or Service category, active status, and—on eligible plans—unit cost and booking-related fields.
Pros
- Provides a straightforward source of reusable line items for quotes, jobs, and invoices.
- Supports descriptions, costs, markups, prices, photos, tax treatment, and active status.
- Includes service duration and customer-selectable quantity settings for online booking.
- Supports CSV importing, bulk updates through reimporting, and CSV exporting.
Cons
- Jobber is not a prebuilt trade-repair database. It is a user-maintained default price list, so businesses must create or import their own product and service content.
- The documented CSV category field distinguishes only between Product and Service, and the application displays all products and services in one list rather than a multi-level trade-repair hierarchy.
- Unit costs, calculated markups, and item photos are limited to select subscription plans.

Cons
- The managed content is specifically oriented toward HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliance repairs, making it less suitable as a general-purpose catalog for unrelated service industries.
- FieldEdge’s current public pages are inconsistent about the exact database size. The dedicated partner page says more than 30,000 repairs, while the Coolfront FAQ still refers to 25,000. The vendor should confirm the current total.

- Unit costs, calculated markups, and item photos are limited to select subscription plans.

FieldEdge’s dedicated partner page says FieldEdge Flat Rate, powered by Coolfront, includes more than 30,000 repairs and is regularly updated.

Reporting and Sales Performance
FieldEdge’s dedicated partner page says FieldEdge Flat Rate, powered by Coolfront, includes more than 30,000 repairs and is regularly updated.

Frequently asked questions about plumbing service agreement software
What is plumbing service agreement software?
Plumbing service agreement software manages recurring maintenance contracts from sale through fulfillment. It may include plan templates, customer acceptance, recurring visits, billing, member pricing, covered equipment, service history, renewals, technician access, and reporting.
What is the best plumbing service agreement software?
FieldPulse is the best overall option for companies that want an all-in-one solution. It connects proposals, signed contracts, maintenance agreements, recurring jobs, billing, pricing, equipment records, mobile operations, and reporting. Housecall Pro is better for a simpler residential membership workflow.
Is FieldPulse or Housecall Pro better for plumbing service agreements?
FieldPulse is better for operational depth, formal contracts, equipment history, commercial accounts, flexible pricing, and custom reports. Housecall Pro is better for quickly launching a standardized residential membership with direct plan discounts and fixed-term renewal reminders.
Does Jobber have plumbing maintenance agreements?
Jobber supports recurring jobs, scheduled invoicing, and automatic payments on eligible plans. However, the first-party documentation reviewed does not establish a dedicated built-in maintenance-agreement record comparable to FieldPulse Maintenance Agreements or Housecall Pro Service Plans.
What is the difference between a plumbing service agreement and a recurring job?
A recurring job repeats appointments and billing. A service agreement also defines the customer’s benefits, covered work, equipment, pricing, contract dates, status, renewal process, and reporting relationship.
What should a plumbing service contract include?
A plumbing service contract should identify the customer, covered property and equipment, included services, visit frequency, benefits, pricing, billing terms, start and end dates, renewal method, exclusions, cancellation terms, and customer authorization.
Can plumbing service agreement software automate recurring visits?
Yes. FieldPulse can automatically create a rolling 12 months of future agreement jobs from job templates. Housecall Pro lets employees schedule or link included Service Plan visits from the plan, dashboard, or job. Jobber can create recurring jobs on repeating schedules.
Can plumbing membership software apply repair discounts automatically?
Yes. Housecall Pro can store a percentage discount in the Service Plan template and apply it to future eligible jobs and estimates. FieldPulse can apply more flexible customer-specific pricing through Price Tiers assigned to the customer.
Can plumbing agreements cover water heaters and pumps?
Yes. FieldPulse can link several customer assets to one Maintenance Agreement and preserve detailed equipment, warranty, condition, file, update, and linked-job records. Housecall Pro can store basic equipment information through Property Profiles.
How should plumbing contractors track renewals?
Fixed-term memberships benefit from automatic expiration reminders and clear renewal states. Housecall Pro provides a dedicated renewal workflow. FieldPulse users can manage renewals through end dates, reports, custom fields, contracts, billing dates, and internal follow-up.
Can customers sign plumbing service agreements electronically?
FieldPulse documents electronic signatures for Dynamic Proposals and contracts connected to Maintenance Agreements. Housecall Pro customers can receive and accept Service Plans and provide payment information. Jobber may use quote approval or an integration such as DocuSign for formal contracts.
Which software is best for commercial plumbing service contracts?
FieldPulse is the strongest option in this comparison for commercial and multi-property agreements because it provides deeper equipment records, recurring-job automation, flexible pricing, contract workflows, custom fields, and reporting.
Which software is easiest for residential plumbing memberships?
Housecall Pro is the easiest for a straightforward residential membership. Its dedicated Service Plan workflow guides the technician or office employee through the plan, add-ons, billing, payment, included visits, and renewal process.
How can plumbing companies sell more service agreements?
Use a small number of clearly differentiated plan tiers, train technicians to identify the right sales moment, show customer savings and equipment risk, provide an easy electronic acceptance process, and report on sales by employee. FieldPulse is especially useful for good-better-best presentations, while Housecall Pro is strong for guided mobile plan sales.
What plumbing equipment should be connected to a service agreement?
Connect any item whose condition, warranty, service frequency, or repair history affects fulfillment. Common examples include water heaters, tankless systems, sump pumps, sewage-ejector pumps, well pumps, booster pumps, water softeners, filtration systems, backflow assemblies, grease interceptors, and commercial water-heating equipment.
How do plumbing companies report on recurring agreement revenue?
Housecall Pro provides preset Service Plan reports for recurring and collected revenue, plans by date or name, and plans sold by employee. FieldPulse provides deeper agreement fields that can be filtered, saved, exported, and added to custom dashboards.
Is plumbing service agreement software only for residential companies?
No. Residential companies often use memberships, while commercial contractors may use customized preventive-maintenance contracts covering several properties, equipment types, service frequencies, contacts, and billing arrangements. FieldPulse is better suited to the more complex commercial model.
Should a plumbing agreement renew automatically?
That depends on the company’s contract language, jurisdiction, customer expectations, and billing model. The software should accurately reflect the agreed renewal terms and provide the required notices. A qualified attorney should review the final customer contract.
